DESCRIPTION:Our August meeting will be a tribute to our past Patron John Sargent. We will hold the 2026 AGM. This will followed by a 42 minute video “From Isolation to Fulfillment” made in 2017 by Peter Oldham in which John and his wife Sue talk about John’s life. SUMMARY:Monthly Meeting: Port Davey Characters
DESCRIPTION:Peter Marmion is a well known conservationist and photographer. He has spent over 50 years exploring Port Davy and Bathurst Harbour\, on the south west coast of Tasmania\, starting out as a crayfishing boat deckhand in the 1970’s. He has learned a lot about the history of the area and the interesting characters who lived there. Peter will tell us about some of the stories he has heard about these characters.

SUMMARY:Monthly Meeting: A trip down memory lane
DESCRIPTION:BHS member\, John Hay\, has a long family association with Bellerive. In the 1870s his grandfather\, an entertainer\, appeared at the Bellerive Institute. His father had the “The Gem” Milk Bar & Delicatessen built in the 1950s. And John attended the old Bellerive State School until grade 5 from 1952. At the meeting John will tell us about his experiences and long association with Bellerive.
